The program is open to self-identified Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, or Transgender graduating high school seniors meeting the prescribed criteria.
The applicant must:
- Be graduating from high school in the year they apply for a scholarship.
- Be a Citizen or Legal Resident of the United States and U.S. Territories.
- Be accepted at an accredited college or university within the United States. Proof of acceptance is required.
- Provide an OFFICIAL copy of their high school transcript showing a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better using a 4.0 scale or equivalent. Weighted average can be used in this calculation.
- Complete 2 personal essays as outlined on the application form.
- Provide at least 2 letters of recommendation from non-family members.

Please provide a succinct explanation as to why you believe you should be chosen for one of the LEAGUE Foundation's scholarships (the oldest LGBTQ National Scholarship program in the United States). Please include a maximum of 3 activities and leadership roles in the LGBTQ community, as well as your dreams for the future and career aspirations. - Essay #2 can be in text format pasted directly to the site (400 words maximum) OR video upload. If you choose video file upload, please video yourself speaking directly to the camera, for no longer than 2 minutes, no less than 1 minute. Content requirements:
Please describe what you see as the future opportunities/challenges of the LGBTQ community.
